Tear Trough and upper cheek dermal filler treatment to correct dark circles under the eyes
Dominique demonstrates a good example of a Tear Trough and Upper cheek treatment at Well Medical Arts. This treatment was with 1 syringe Restylane in the tear trough and 2 syringes of Radiesse in the upper cheek. We get lots of calls about dark circles under the eyes which is commonly caused by volume loss in both the tear troughs and the cheeks. When treating both areas we can minimize the amount of filler required in the actual tear trough as filling the cheeks will often correct some of the issues our patients are seeing. Some patients opt to treat just the cheeks first and return for the tear trough only if needed. Typical tear trough treatments can swell and bruise so time this treatment appropriately around any big social engagements. Filling the cheeks typically causes less bruising as we are injecting the filler deeper under the surface of the skin.
Online scheduling is not available for this appointment. Please call our patient care coordinators at 206-935-5689 to schedule your appointment or to learn more about this procedure.

hey it’s Dominic well from wall medical
0:00:02.460,0:00:07.170
arts and yeah today we get to do
0:00:04.740,0:00:10.080
teardrops one of my favorite things to
0:00:07.170,0:00:12.179
do makes people look so well-rested and
0:00:10.080,0:00:14.370
just healthy and then we get to add on
0:00:12.179,0:00:18.210
some glamorous cheeks another favorite
0:00:14.370,0:00:21.210
all right so I’ve gone given arnica to
0:00:18.210,0:00:23.939
prep for good healing cleaned and now we
0:00:21.210,0:00:26.699
get to start with the fun artwork I’m
0:00:23.939,0:00:33.859
going to start by drawing where I’m
0:00:26.699,0:00:33.859
gonna go and you can look for the actual
0:00:54.980,0:01:07.369
can you a little bit a little bit and
0:01:02.160,0:01:07.369
strike one – barely
0:01:17.450,0:01:25.259
okay and then we also have a very fun
0:01:23.640,0:01:27.030
tool that’s gonna help
0:01:25.259,0:01:29.479
it’s called the River AMA it’s a little
0:01:27.030,0:01:29.479
vibrator
0:01:30.440,0:01:35.900
okay this one tool there we go put it in
0:01:33.650,0:01:37.760
your right hand and put it up against
0:01:35.900,0:01:39.860
your right wrong okay
0:01:37.760,0:01:41.810
sorry your left hand back there you go
0:01:39.860,0:01:43.880
there you go cuz I’m working on video
0:01:41.810,0:01:46.580
yeah and you can actually move this
0:01:43.880,0:01:48.410
along your jaw and up towards your ear
0:01:46.580,0:01:49.490
you can put it on your clavicle your
0:01:48.410,0:01:52.310
collarbone
0:01:49.490,0:01:54.020
okay so what’s gonna happen is your
0:01:52.310,0:02:00.260
nerves are gonna feel that instead of
0:01:54.020,0:02:02.930
this okay close your eyes one of the
0:02:00.260,0:02:08.570
other things that helped me see the tear
0:02:02.930,0:02:12.250
trough well there you go that’s what it
0:02:08.570,0:02:12.250
feels like not too too bad right now
0:02:14.680,0:02:33.650
sometimes people can hear
0:02:17.750,0:02:38.299
yes okay now with the teardrop it’s best
0:02:33.650,0:02:42.750
there we go good job to do very small
0:02:38.299,0:02:47.120
little teeny-tiny linear threads and
0:02:42.750,0:02:50.250
right deep so you don’t see any filler
0:02:47.120,0:02:54.560
you’ll want to keep it so that you just
0:02:50.250,0:02:56.579
see the person’s own natural tissue
0:02:54.560,0:02:58.230
awesome yeah
0:02:56.579,0:02:59.910
I’m gonna have you gently tuck your chin
0:02:58.230,0:03:01.500
to your just a little bit I know it’s a
0:02:59.910,0:03:03.090
little strange and I’m gonna have you
0:03:01.500,0:03:05.519
open your eyes and look up towards the
0:03:03.090,0:03:08.250
ceiling what that does is that makes the
0:03:05.519,0:03:12.989
tear trough pop out for me so I can see
0:03:08.250,0:03:15.900
exactly where yours means the corruption
0:03:12.989,0:03:24.870
almost you like this is the worst angle
0:03:15.900,0:03:34.109
for a photo so very small it’s looking
0:03:24.870,0:03:36.019
great you’re doing fantastic how is it
0:03:34.109,0:03:39.019
as far as out doing this for you all
0:03:36.019,0:03:39.019
right
0:03:47.400,0:03:54.290
[Music]
0:03:50.060,0:03:56.990
oh yeah oh wow isn’t that nice
0:03:54.290,0:03:58.520
so very natural we can always put a
0:03:56.990,0:04:01.250
little bit more seems like it could use
0:03:58.520,0:04:03.290
just a tiny bit more right through there
0:04:01.250,0:04:20.600
okay but look at how much actually yeah
0:04:03.290,0:04:22.280
teardrop itself yeah and you always want
0:04:20.600,0:04:24.080
it to look natural where you’ve still
0:04:22.280,0:04:32.030
got a little that we call it under
0:04:24.080,0:04:33.770
corrected mm-hmm so the best kind of
0:04:32.030,0:04:36.040
work is the work where people don’t know
0:04:33.770,0:04:41.360
this and say what you have done and
0:04:36.040,0:04:44.680
they’re beautiful all right I’m gonna go
0:04:41.360,0:04:44.680
on over into the same thing other side
0:04:49.090,0:04:59.330
towards me nice just they both look very
0:04:53.870,0:05:01.040
nice they look great miji know why don’t
0:04:59.330,0:05:03.080
you looking at teardrops you’ve got the
0:05:01.040,0:05:04.370
part that has volume wants and then
0:05:03.080,0:05:06.440
sometimes you’ll have a little part
0:05:04.370,0:05:07.870
that’s popping up above we’re not
0:05:06.440,0:05:09.610
actually doing anything
0:05:07.870,0:05:13.480
the puffy part what we’re feeling is the
0:05:09.610,0:05:15.900
volume loss part and making them try to
0:05:13.480,0:05:21.550
match so they’re just kind of trying to
0:05:15.900,0:05:23.800
camouflage so tear trucks not too bad no
0:05:21.550,0:05:25.389
no just a few little areas that you
0:05:23.800,0:05:29.820
could feel will dip them in here and
0:05:25.389,0:05:29.820
there yeah okay well now turn to retain
0:05:42.450,0:05:47.800
this one we’re not using lidocaine for
0:05:45.490,0:05:50.290
each little poke so you will feel the
0:05:47.800,0:05:52.120
poke it’s not that bad okay and when you
0:05:50.290,0:05:53.889
look at your face afterwards she’ll be
0:05:52.120,0:06:00.760
like oh it was nothing to poke me any
0:05:53.889,0:06:02.680
day don’t hurt as much sometimes as we
0:06:00.760,0:06:07.350
start marching towards the side this way
0:06:02.680,0:06:07.350
they tend to get just a little bit yeah
0:06:08.950,0:06:12.070
[Music]
0:06:19.310,0:06:38.639
use that little – alright let’s go ahead
0:06:36.720,0:06:42.630
and take a peek in the mirror and let
0:06:38.639,0:06:44.840
her see you with that left side looks
0:06:42.630,0:06:44.840
like
0:06:47.870,0:06:53.900
oh wow in that profile so see how
0:06:51.470,0:06:55.310
natural oh my god but it making sure she
0:06:53.900,0:06:59.300
could look like it does when it’s
0:06:55.310,0:07:02.960
smiling yeah so look how happy okay yeah
0:06:59.300,0:07:05.270
and it lifts this just a little yeah but
0:07:02.960,0:07:07.250
see that’s that little cheery happy
0:07:05.270,0:07:09.169
lifted blue man remember on this side
0:07:07.250,0:07:11.389
that the highest point of your cheek was
0:07:09.169,0:07:15.560
down here right now the highest point of
0:07:11.389,0:07:17.479
your cheek is cute isn’t it it is yeah
0:07:15.560,0:07:22.760
the cheeks of glamorous the teardrops
0:07:17.479,0:07:25.790
are nice for rested healthy and the
0:07:22.760,0:07:29.020
cheeks are whoo yeah all right let’s get
0:07:25.790,0:07:29.020
the other side all right
0:07:33.290,0:07:41.130
so you made it yeah what we want to do
0:07:37.620,0:07:43.800
now is put a little topical arnica on it
0:07:41.130,0:07:45.840
and make a look at everything okay look
0:07:43.800,0:07:48.990
at what a good correction we got go
0:07:45.840,0:07:58.070
check our symmetry make sure that you’re
0:07:48.990,0:08:01.830
happy okay but I am going to teach you
0:07:58.070,0:08:02.850
the lymphatic drainage massage technique
0:08:01.830,0:08:05.610
if you swap
0:08:02.850,0:08:07.590
okay so swelling and their cheeks will
0:08:05.610,0:08:09.540
take the path of least resistance is up
0:08:07.590,0:08:11.820
into the tear trough and we did your
0:08:09.540,0:08:13.800
tear trough so you might swallow up here
0:08:11.820,0:08:14.880
and be a little bit coffee just know
0:08:13.800,0:08:16.680
that that’s normal
0:08:14.880,0:08:18.780
okay and then I’m going to show you the
0:08:16.680,0:08:24.960
way that we get it out first you’re
0:08:18.780,0:08:27.720
gonna wash clothes in the microwave for
0:08:24.960,0:08:30.870
like 25 30 seconds okay and then how
0:08:27.720,0:08:33.899
does this feel too hot or nice oh good
0:08:30.870,0:08:33.899
[Music]
0:08:36.530,0:08:41.610
now usually we’re most swollen in the
0:08:39.570,0:08:43.290
mornings after being horizontal all
0:08:41.610,0:08:46.940
night and yes said that you would use
0:08:43.290,0:08:50.300
the cold yeah the warm works better for
0:08:46.940,0:08:53.430
swelling because it’s a vasodilator
0:08:50.300,0:08:57.000
opens everything up so then it can get
0:08:53.430,0:08:59.400
out back into the vascular out into the
0:08:57.000,0:09:03.080
lymph nodes now your lymph nodes are
0:08:59.400,0:09:06.750
over here okay so what we’re gonna do is
0:09:03.080,0:09:08.370
massage and it’s a little bit more
0:09:06.750,0:09:09.780
vigorous then you would think feel that
0:09:08.370,0:09:11.040
pressure that’s a little bit more than
0:09:09.780,0:09:16.260
what you would probably put right on
0:09:11.040,0:09:20.150
there and then we push this over towards
0:09:16.260,0:09:22.630
your lymph nodes and then down
0:09:20.150,0:09:25.700
she goes in front of the ear and down
0:09:22.630,0:09:27.530
and so any of that fluid there so
0:09:25.700,0:09:29.720
swelling is just your body doing its job
0:09:27.530,0:09:31.850
okay I booked you and your body says oh
0:09:29.720,0:09:34.220
my gosh send down the troops to try and
0:09:31.850,0:09:35.930
heal everything and boom swollen it will
0:09:34.220,0:09:38.540
eventually go out on its own but if you
0:09:35.930,0:09:40.280
get impatient the warm compress okay
0:09:38.540,0:09:43.160
followed by the lymphatic drainage
0:09:40.280,0:09:44.600
massage help move those fluids back into
0:09:43.160,0:09:50.900
the system let me just get the other
0:09:44.600,0:09:53.570
side oh wow oh yeah yeah definitely
0:09:50.900,0:09:56.420
isn’t that nice mm-hmm and I’m just
0:09:53.570,0:09:58.220
seeing a little bit yeah yeah yeah I
0:09:56.420,0:09:59.930
always do you like to leave things a
0:09:58.220,0:10:01.730
little bit under correct and then so
0:09:59.930,0:10:03.920
that it looks very natural but this is
0:10:01.730,0:10:05.900
why each side of the face is different
0:10:03.920,0:10:08.720
and even though we do the same thing to
0:10:05.900,0:10:10.640
each side we like to examine it at the
0:10:08.720,0:10:12.920
end and then see if anything needs a
0:10:10.640,0:10:15.290
little bit more okay I see on this side
0:10:12.920,0:10:17.090
too there’s still a ton yeah the malar
0:10:15.290,0:10:19.130
break on that side but it’s much better
0:10:17.090,0:10:22.310
okay what I’m going to do is just put a
0:10:19.130,0:10:24.700
little bit more on this side and then
0:10:22.310,0:10:24.700
we’ll be done
0:10:26.850,0:10:34.660
okay it still feels nice and smooth now
0:10:32.230,0:10:43.240
take a peek in let’s examine oh yeah
0:10:34.660,0:10:46.620
yeah so that’s how you do the tear
0:10:43.240,0:10:46.620
trough and the cheeks
0:10:53.680,0:10:55.740
you
